In the Latipac right above the picture of me (Laura Grosch) is a picture of Tom Britt speaking with Mrs Peacock with the words " Guidance in our quest for truth." He was serious but also with a fine sense of humor. We enjoyed the senior prom together. He attended Amherst College, a literary force, but was discouraged by his English professors. In 7th or 8th grade? he and Philip Ray gave an amazing party at Philip's house with chambers of colored crepe paper dense over the whole house. His collages for the poster committee were jazz age provocative. I kept 2. He was a fine writer and poet. One of his poems was about seeing peach blossoms frozen before they could fruit. He was a great talent not understood who decided he could not live. I still miss him.
