WILMINGTON — Edwin Gayle Farrell, M.D., 67, of Wilmington died Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at his residence.

He was born on March 13, 1945 in Elkin, NC to the late Claude and Margaret Farrell.

Dr. Ed is survived by his two children, James Farrell and Margaret Brown (Scott); two grandchildren, Noah and Zac Brown; and one brother, Harris Farrell.

He is a graduate of Davidson College and went on to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he graduated medical school. He will be best remembered for his big smile and infectious laugh.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
