We moved to Raleigh in 1948. Kenny lived across the street and was my first Raleigh friend. Our friendship continued  'till his untimely death lm 2006. Kenny lived his professional life in the Atlanta area.

After retirement he invented  a steering wheel security system. He produced and successfully sold the system.

Kenny visited me often while looking for for a beach house in the Morehead Ciry area. Problem was he was looking during the real estate price peak. He bought a diesel dually pickup and a large fifth wheel camper. Came to Morehead often camping

After his death his wife had a memorial get together at Ft. Macon State Park on a Saturday afternoon with about 30 of his old Raleigh friends. His childreen enjoyed learning about his friends and life in Raleigh. One question they was about the CHAR GRILL.

I think of him often  when camping.

I hung out with Ken in high school, along with Gil Wood and Bill Watson, class of '62. Ken was always working on cars. He loved 'vettes and did some drag racing with one of his cars. He was at our 40th reunion, but kind of kept to himself. He left Raleigh early that year. Unfortunately, I only saw him a few times after that.

His death was a shock to all of us. He was sitting in his recliner with a bowl of ice cream on his lap when his wife found him.
