While going through my archives, I came across a page from the Raleigh Times dated November 10, 1962. Bobbi Kahdy was the teen writer for the Times, and she had several articles published that day. One was about preparations for the Homecoming Parade (Herb Jackson was the head of Homecoming that year). The other article was about the "Teen of the Week", Kay Hughes. The article was entitled "Busy is Her Middle Name", and it went on to list all the things that Kay was involved in. She was indeed busy, and even at that young age, she was very accomplished.

I wish I had found thae article earlier. It was a wonderful tribute to a wonderful lady.

Thank you, Mickie.  I had a routine 6-month mammogram the day after Easter and everything looks great!  I am so thankful to have more time to do what God wants me to do and to enjoy my family and friends.

It's wonderful to see this happy and handsome photo of Dr. & Mrs. Kahdy.  Such fond memories from being nearby neighbors in elementary school, having Mr. Kahdy for my 7th & 8th grade principal, and then 3 years of French at Broughton with Mrs. Kahdy.  At Hugh Morson, Mr. Kahdy provided us numerous leadership opportunities even as 7th graders, and what a role model he was caring for every student -- no matter economic or social status!  Mrs. Kahdy was always energetic, happy, and positive, and of course was a master in her field.  What a dedicated pair of educators for which I am truly grateful!  Janice Britson

Janice,   Thanks so much for the sweet thoughts.  I sent them to Dad.   Hope to see you sometime again when I'm visiting.  Best to you and your family. Love, Bobbie

Barbara, It was so nice to see the picture of your parents on the website. It appears that they are doing well. You are so lucky to still have them around for you and your family to enjoy.   Rick White.

What a wonderful reminder of good times! Your folks were special, Bobbie, and I hope you will pass on my regards to them.

Their children were also special. Best regards to you, George & Georgette (you may remember that Gwen was a classmate of theirs).

Mr. Khady was  my principal at Thompson Elementary.....when  we  moved on up to Hugh Morrison we were so blessed  to have him move up with us.   He was such a kind man and  knew the students names.. We were so fortunate to have had him as our principal.

Thanks Mr. Khady!

Mr. Kahdy was my principle when I when to Murphy School on Person St.  I was then transferred to Thompson and he was also.  Then we went to Hugh Morson together.  I always wondered why he didn't go with us to Broughton.  He always had a smile on his face and a greeting for all his students.  I am so glad to know that he and his beautiful wife are doing well.

Bobbie,  Both of your parents were always favorites of mine.  I love them both, as did my parents.  What dear people they always were to all of us. Your Mom was my very favorite teacher.  Though I have forgotten alot of the French she taught, I still manage to come up with words when I need to!! Your Mom is also beautiful and always has been on the inside as well as the outside. I was so pleased to see her a couple of years back in Chapel Hill with Georgette. Of course, your dad is the best.  I believe he was the personnel director for Raleigh Schools when I first came back to teach here and I am sure he is why I was hired.  You, George & Georgette were blessed to have such sweet, loving, outstanding parents. Please give them both my love.  Audrey

I remember all of the Kahdys throughout  my school years - beginning with Mr. Kahdy as my principal at Thompson Elementary School, Bobbie in High School and George as a KA at NCSU and even as DVM in recent years. Such a wonderful family of educators!

A friend of mine sent me these  memories from the 50's and 60's.  Watch and enjoy!   I am betting it will make you smile!  You will probably have to type in the address, but worth the effort.
